A Candid View of Hitler
In 1943 Hammond came up with the idea of producing Hitler's Photo Album. It was to be bound in cheap leather and contain unflattering photographs of the Fuhrer, his family and his entourage. To add authenticity, the photographs would be accompanied by forged handwritten notes supposedly made by Hitler himself. Once the album was finished it was to be distributed throughout Germany and the occupied territories. Sadly, the Foreign Office deemed the project too expensive and only few of the photographs were ever produced.
